Tips: Optimize Your Map Content |
There
are many different variables that can affect the
performance of ArcIMS. One of the first places to
start when thinking about improving ArcIMS performance
is the log files produced by the Spatial Server.
The Spatial Server produces a log file for each
Virtual Server. In this month's contribution, you
will learn to control the information reported in
the log files and how to interpret the output. There
are many choices that you have as an ArcIMS developer
when authoring map configuration files. This month's
contribution will cover some of the suggested map
configuration file options to increase ArcIMS performance.
Finally, another aspect that will be covered is
the options for Image Virtual Server output image
formats and how to make the decision of formats
based on source data format and performance requirements.
